Which states experienced the most significant increase in active coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours?
In the last 24 hours, Kerala recorded the highest surge in active COVID-19 cases at 265, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Following closely were Tamil Nadu with 15 and Karnataka with 13 new cases. Meanwhile, Gujarat and Maharashtra experienced increases of 9 and 8 cases, respectively. Kerala currently holds the highest count of active cases in the country, standing at 2606.

The newly identified JN.1 subvariant of Covid-19 is associated with symptoms such as sore throat, lethargy, and headache. Given the increase in cases, the health department is urging citizens to adhere to Covid-19 protocols, including wearing face masks and using hand sanitizers.
